Graveyard Brownies

Dearly beloved, are you hosting a Graveyard Smash this Halloween? Why not make this adorable edible cemetery for all of your ghoulish guests to devour. With a brownie base, sweet chocolate filling and coconut topping it has the rich combination of a Bounty Bar. Boneapetite!

I used a store bought brownie mix to make this recipe quick and easy. Once cooled, I topped it with pre-prepared chocolate frosting. For the grass, I used sweetened coconut that I shook up in a Ziplock bag with some green food color and 1/2 tsp. lukewarm water, and I sprinkled it over the top. For the tombstones, I used an gravestone cookie cutter that I picked up on Amazon. I followed my Frankenstein Cookie recipe (omit the green food color) and my Royal Icing recipe. I let the cookies dry overnight, and then used edible markers to add funny names with the help of my punny husband.

Feel free to customize your your gravestones with silly names. We chose celebrities to name them after. To make it extra spooky, I used a Tombstone Font from Dafont.com. Here are some of the names that we came up with:

  • DYiN’ GOSLiNG
  • PETE GRAVE-iDSON
  • GRiM KARDASHiAN
  • BRAD FELL iNTO A PiTT
  • MiLEEEEK CYRUS
  • AAAAAHHHH-SHTON BUTCHERED
  • GONE LEGEND
  • R.I.PEYONCE

For a finishing touch, I added a “spooky, scary skeleton,” which was “bad to the bone”. What a fun way to get into the spirit of Halloween. May you rest in peace knowing that your brownies are to die for, and your Halloween Bash will be eerie-sistible.
