Christmas Book List

The countdown is on… only 50 days until Christmas! The holiday season is a time of joy, togetherness and cherished traditions. One of the most heartwarming traditions is reading Christmas books together with your family as you countdown to the most magical day of the year. These books have the power to transport you to the North Pole, introduce you to beloved characters, and teach valuable lessons about the true spirit of Christmas.

In our family we like to read at least one book each day leading up to Christmas, as an advent tradition. Every year we like to add new books to our collection, but we save our favorites for the week before. The Jolly Christmas Postman was one of my absolute favorites growing up, with all of the fun little games and popups that come along with it. When Christmas time rolls around, the kids beg me to read it to them and it is still an undisputed favorite among them. Home Alone and Elf are classic movies that we watched growing up, and they have become a tradition in our holiday reading marathon as well now. Every year in the days leading up to Christmas, we watch Mariah Carey’s Christmas special on TV, and so I was delighted to discover that she had a children’s book out for us to enjoy this year. There are just so many beautiful children’s books to incorporate and add to our ever-growing pile that we will have to start our countdown early.

I curated a list of some of the books that I will be reading with my little ones this year, as we sip on hot cocoa and snuggle up next to our fireplace on a cold winters night. Some are old and many are new, but all of them embody the true meaning of Christmas. I hope this will inspire you to build a Christmas book collection with your family, and enjoy these special moments together.

So, gather your children and cozy up in your reading nook. As you countdown to Christmas, remember that the true magic lies in the moments shared with your loved ones and the timeless stories that warm your hearts. Happy reading and happy holidays!
